"My daughter attended one of Fog City Tutoring's summer writing workshops for elementary aged students. She had a blast and asked to go back next summer! The workshops included hands-on activities, as well as free and structured writing time. The summer program ended with a celebration party where the students read their published pieces of writing and the parents were invited to attend. - Olivia G.For the summer of 2011, Fog City Tutoring will be forming summer writing groups. Interested students in grades 4 through 12 will be asked to submit a writing sample and groups will then be formed based on student age and writing level.
Students will be introduced to different genres of writing (persuasive, narrative, expository & descriptive) through hands on activities and structured writing exercises. Specific writing curriculum will be determined by the students' needs and writing abilities.
Groups will consist of no more than 6 students per instructor.

Group 1: Tu/Th 9:30 - 11am
Group 2: Tu/Th 12:30 - 2pm
Group 3: M/W 12:30 - 2pm

Small Group Workshops
Fog City Tutoring periodically offers writing workshops which allow for an in-depth exploration into a specific subject matter. Workshop topics vary but include writing, personal statments, science writing, finance for middle schoolers and hands on math.
Schedules for summer programming are posted on the Fog City Tutoring website in February. Class sizes are kept small with a 1 to 8 teacher to student ratio.
